Our Story

Born from a Pile of
Beautiful Junk

JunkSlut is a monthly subscription box for people who hoard beautiful paper, collect washi tape with zero shame, and believe that scraps of ephemera are basically treasure. It's a community as much as it is a box.

How It Started

A Craft Room, a Thrift Store, and Too Much Tape

It started the way most good things do — completely by accident. Our founder, a lifelong mixed-media artist and self-described "paper hoarder of the first order," had a problem: an ever-growing stash of gorgeous ephemera with no system for sharing it. Every month she'd come home from estate sales and thrift stores with arms full of vintage ledger pages, dried botanical prints, hand-stamped envelopes, and washi tape in colors that didn't exist anywhere else.

She started mailing care packages to friends. Then friends of friends started asking. One spreadsheet, three coffee-stained notebooks, and a lot of packing tape later, JunkSlut was born.

The name? A badge of honor. We are unabashedly, joyfully obsessed with paper junk. We make no apologies. We just make journals.
